Summer Fun

Oh what do you do in the summer time, when all the world is green? Do you swim in a pool to keep yourself cool? Well this is what we do!! Swimming, swimming, swimming!! This seems to be the universal summer past time. Emma took swimming lessons at the first of June and since then all she wants to do is practice swimming. Dane's mom bought a swimming pool for her house and all the grand kids have pretty much lived there. Lets not forget the Res, swimming in the backyard, several trips to the pool, and hopefully before the summer is over a trip to Seven Peaks.

Fun at the res!

Dane is like a kid, he likes it as much as they do.

Wild Weekend

My cousin got married this last weekend in Tremonton. I made everyone take a family photo so I thought I had better post them. The only one missing is Beev and we sure all miss him whenever we get together.

It was our 6th aniversary that day. I can't beleive how fast six years has gone. I am a pretty lucky girl

Amber and Bryce

Josh, Tiffany, Kash, and Carson.

All the kids wanted to do was get back to the hotel to swim, so we ditched out a little early and let them.

Kelly Pickler

My Aunt called in February and wanted to know if I wanted to go to Kelly Pickler. A girls trip I couldn't refuse, so of course I said yes and told her to get me two tickets one for me and one for Emma. So for the last few months we have been listening to Kelly Pickler non stop. Emma has gotten most of the songs down, but her favorite one is "Red high heels." Me, Emma, Tiffany, Amber, Grandma Geri, Aunt Staci, and Kristi all went. After the concert they said that she might come out and do a signing so we stuck around and got a picture with her, and an autograph. Emma had the time of her life. It was in St. George at Tuachan so we got a hotel and spent a couple of days down there. It was also Tiffany's birthday while we were down there so we went to Costco and bought one of there huge cakes, and it was so good!!! We put it in the trunk of my car and every time we wanted some we would open the trunk and eat.

The Branding

Every year, the last weekend in March, the Stephenson's all get together and brand the new calves. This is one of the biggest events that takes place all year. Starting on Friday the men go out and seperate the calves and get them ready. Then on Saturday they go out early and start branding, vaccinating, and ear-marking the calves. The rest of us show up a little later with the kids and let them help with the last of the calves. The kids love helping papa on the ranch! Danes job is branding the claves, and he likes to tease the kids, and tell them that they have to be branded also. After the cows have all been worked we have a big picnic and let the kids run around and play in the dirt. They love being able to fly there kites out in the open fields. Every year when it is over the kids already start making plans for next years branding.

I Hope They Call Me On A Mission!!!

Tonight we all got together to watch Beev open his mission call. He is going to be serving in the Peoria, Illinois Mission, and will be leaving on January 6, 2010. For those of you who do not understand the relationship that we have with out brother let me explain. Tiffany, Amber, and I are all within a few years of each other in age and then there was Bryant, 5 years after the fact. Naturally we all took him on as one of our own, and we like to say he has 4 mothers. However, no matter what the difference in age I know that he has three sisters who are looking up to him as if he were the big brother. I am so proud of him and choice he has made in life to get him to this point. He has always had a strong head on his shoulders and that has made all the difference. He is a leader and not a follower and will make an excellent missionary. We are going to miss him and I know that my girls will miss him a lot, but the people in Illinois need him to bring them the true gospel. What an honor it is for my daughters to have an uncle like him to look up to. Beev you are our Hero!

First day of School

Emma started pre-school at Miss Christy's!! She was so excited to go to school. She has Morgan and Mary in her class so she has no problem going. She came home from school the first day and told me that we don't throw things and we share, rules that we have at home but now that she learned them at school they actually count. I hate that my girls are growing up so fast I feel like everytime I blink we are on to something new.

Summer Vacation

Having a farmer for a husband doesn't give me a lot of time to plan a vacation in the summer. You never know when the weather is going to be good so that you can get the hay up, so we plan at a moments notice to take a trip. We didn't have a lot of time to plan much so we decided to take the kids and go to Park City for a couple of days. The first day we stopped at seven peaks and met up with my family, the kids had a blast, Emma and Gracie both didn't want to get out of the water. But honestly I think Dane had the best time he hit all the big scary slides with Josh and Amber. He keeps asking when we can go back. Then we went to Park City to stay a few nights. I went to the outlets to do some fall shopping for the kids the next day and we did some touring around. Dane has an uncle that has a BIG house there so we went and found it and looked at all the big houses in Park City. Dane and Emma got tickets to ride the Alpine slide, but when they went to get on it started to rain so they closed it down. Emma was bummed so we went back to the hotel and swam in the pool. The next day we got up and went into Salt Lake and took the kids to the zoo. Emma loved it but Gracie loved it more. Gracie would cry when we would leave an exhibit to go to another one. After the Zoo we headed back to Holden. It was a short two night vacation but it was fun to get away and be with the Fam.
